Nowa Stacja shopping center, Pruszków, Poland

The Project
Nowa Stacja (eng. New Station) is the first shopping center in Pruszków located in the vicinity of a railway station. The Nowa Stacja was built on the site of a former machine tool factory. A nice touch is the old machines that stand right next to the entrance, along with a description of the history of the building.

The architecture of the place and the materials applied both in the façade and in interior design reflect the industrial vibe of the place. Designed by IMB Asymetria, renowned architectural studio, this shopping centre brings a modern approach to both the form and function of the station.

It was designed as a four-storey building with one underground storey. Above the roof there is an elevated part of the complex of seven cinema halls and rooms for fitness classes. There are two car parks in the building – one in the basement and the other on the roof, which is accessed via a worm ramp.

Two entrance facades made of glass and steel construction lead to the gallery. The glass specified for the façade glazing was Pilkington Suncool™ 66/33 T toughened high performance solar control glass with high selectivity index. The glazing offers high light transmittance, low solar energy transmittance and high thermal insulation. It also brings a breath of fresh air and daylight into the interior providing comfortable internal environment.
