Tulipan House, Warsaw, Poland

The Project

Tulipan House is an office building in Warsaw's Mokotów district. It looks impressive especially at night because it is beautifully lit. Designed by E&L Architects this four-storey building with centrally located glazed atrium creates friendly and productive working environment.

The design of the building ensures optimal access to daylight. The 14 m high glazed atrium was constructed with Pilkington Insulight™ Protect double glazing made of Pilkington Optifloat™ Clear and Pilkington Optilam™ Therm SN low-e laminated glass*.

Pilkington Insulight™ Sun insulating glass units made of Pilkington Suncool™ 50/25 neutral high performance solar control glass were used in the windows on the façades exposed to a greater degree of sunlight, while the rounded element of the building at the main entrance used Pilkington Suncool™ Silver 50/30 solar control glass and matching Pilkington Spandrel Glass units with the use of enamelled glass in RAL 9006 colour in the spandrel area between the windows.

3,200 m² of glass and insulating glass units was supplied by Pilkington IGP plant in Skierniewice.

Tulipan House was awarded in Europe & Arfica Property Awards 2009 competition in the category of Commercial Architecture.

* The Pilkington Optitherm™ SN low emissivity coating used in this project has been withdrawn from our product range and replaced with a higher performing Pilkington Optitherm™ S3 low emissivity coating.
