Campus AgroParisTech, Palaiseau, France

The Project
The agricultural higher education establishment AgroParisTech and some INRAE research laboratories are located at the heart of the University of Paris-Saclay. Ultimately, the new campus with an area of over 65,000 m² will accommodate 2,000 students and 1,350 teachers-researchers and technicians.

A total of 8 buildings designed by the Marc Mimram Architecture et Ingénierie and the Lacoudre Architectures studios surround a 2-hectare wooded park.

At the centre of the project, three structures bring together the teaching spaces:
- two buildings including amphitheatres and tutorial rooms,
- a building entirely intended for practical work with numerous laboratories reserved for students.

Pilkington Suncool Optiphon™ 71/39 acoustic laminated glass with a solar control coating was specified for the glazing of the south-facing façades to ensure high transmission of natural light into the interior of the classrooms, while ensuring comfort in summer as well as in winter, with adequate solar control and excellent thermal insulation and acoustic insulation.

In the park, a multi-purpose facility called Le Kube houses the campus student bar. The new generation Pilkington Suncool Optiphon™ Q 60 acoustic laminated glass with a solar control coating allows for excellent control of energy transmission into the interior of this glazed cube on all four exposures and very efficient acoustic attenuation.
