The Residenz Theatre, Munich, Germany

The Project
The Residenz Theatre is the main venue of the Bavarian State Theatre in Munich. The lighting concept for the redesign of the foyer was designed by the lighting designer Ingo Maurer. Fifteen individual Powerglass® panels light up the letters with red LEDs, while the "silver cloud", a constantly moving cloud made of 3,000 reflective silver leaves, "floats" in the room.

Peter Platz Spezialglas GmbH produced the panels with letters which have been made of 4 mm NSG TEC™. NSG TEC™ is an electrically conductive glass that is suitable, among other things, for applications in displays. Thanks to its high light transmission, durability of the glass coating and the possibility of thermal treatment, it is a versatile product.

The design options for LED laminated glass solutions are almost unlimited. Whether as an aesthetic stylistic element or an impressive media facade - the modern LED applications are suitable for both interior and outdoor applications.
