House M6 at Norra Station, Hässleholm, Sweden

The Project
The high standards in House M6 office building are achieved with the help of different types of glass. Thanks to the high performance solar control glass and low emissivity glass providing high light transmittance and noise control glass reducing the noise level, this building achieved Silver Miljöbyggnad Swedish Environmental Certificate issued by the Sweden Green Building Council. The certificate proves that the building on top of all mandatory requirements that are met offers much better sun protection, acoustic performance and ventilation.

Pilkington Suncool™ 50/25 has been selected in the facades exposed to sun radiation. With this solar control glass only 25% of the solar heat enters the building. The heat load is substantially reduced, and the building offers very high energy efficiency. The builder has also invested in an indoor environment free from disturbing noise. Therefore, two panes of noise control glass have been applied in all insulating glass units offering very quiet environment inside.

In the eastern, southern and western facades Pilkington Suncool™ 50/25 have been used in in a triple insulating glass units in combination with noise control glass Pilkington Optiphon™ and Pilkington Optiphon™ Therm S3.

In the northern facade where the solar thermal load is much lower, Pilkington Optitherm™ S3 has been chosen to maximize daylight and reduce heat escape. It has been combined with noise control products as in all other windows.

Inside the building, escape routes are protected with Pilkington Pyrostop® so that tenants can safely evacuate the premises in case of fire.
