The Best Western Plus Quid Hotel Venice Mestre is a 4-star hotel located in the AEV Terraglio area in Mestre. The surrounding new commercial area is distinguished by its modern urban architecture.
Designed by the architect Giovanna Mar the building is divided into two main volumes, connected to each other: the hotel with nine floors and 128 rooms and a low volume, where the conference room and the hotel restaurant are located.
The double-glazing units installed in the buildings have been made of Pilkington Suncool™ Silver 50/30 high performance solar control glass in a laminated safety version on the external face and a glass from the Pilkington Optiphon™ noise control glass range for safety and sound insulation on the internal face.
The following technical performances of the glazing has been achieved:
- solar factor of 30%
- thermal insulation Ug = 1.0 W/m²K
- light transmission of 48%
- external light reflection of 38%
- estimated noise reduction index Rw = 42 (-3; -7)
The Pilkington Suncool™ Silver 50/30 solar control glass has a silver coating and is perfect for facades that require high brilliance and reflection. It allows to obtain high external light reflection and a very low solar factor, while maintaining neutral light transmission. It offers excellent thermal insulation and the colour rendering from the inside remains unchanged.
Pilkington Optiphon™ is a high quality soundproofed laminated safety glass that offers excellent noise reduction without compromising light transmission or impact behaviour.
