JOSEPHS®, Nuremberg, Germany

The Project
JOSEPHS® is an open innovation laboratory in Nuremberg's city centre where a wide variety of companies can have their products and services evaluated by visitors during a three-month test phase. During this time, not only is direct feedback from visitors collected, but specific ideas and suggestions for further development are also requested and integrated into the test results - "co-creation" is the name of this innovative concept, which is very successful in research circles.

JOSEPHS® is part of the Friedrich-Alexander University Nuremberg-Erlangen (FAU).

The start-up company Mirrads has installed a smart mirror made of Pilkington MirroView™ integrated with a tablet for interaction. The tablet can be used to view the FAU's online shop, display products on the mirror or order them. Selfies and videos can also be taken in front of the mirror using an integrated camera and then shared.
