15 glass benches made of Pilkington Glass were unveiled on the market square of the Old Town in Sandomierz, Poland. The event was organized as part of the 15th Extraordinary Film Festival. Each bench contains a screen printed quote from one of the fifteen artists honoured with the title of an extraordinary director.
Glass used in the benches has been designed and manufactured by the Polish Pilkington IGP processing branch, using solutions relevant for security glass, glass floors, etc., where glass is not only a transparent infill panel, but also a structural element responsible for users’ safety. The benches have been made of laminated glass Pilkington Optilam™ Clear HN with a total thickness of 16.8 mm (backrest) and 29.5 mm (seat).
All Pilkington Optifloat™ Clear glass used for the laminated glass was additionally subjected to thermal strengthening process for additional strength. The PVB interlayers were the typical interlayers used in car windscreen and laminated safety glass manufacture.
