Kindergarten, Warsaw, Poland

The Project
The kindergarten of King Macius the First, located in Warsaw's Targówek, is one of the most modern in the whole country. For children's safety and comfort, Pilkington Insulight™ Protect insulated glass units are made of Pilkington Optifloat™ Green toughened safety solar control glass as the outer pane and Pilkington Optilam™ Therm 8,8 low-emissivity laminated safety glass as the inner pane. The facade was made of glass with screen printing depicting drawings and rebuses invented by the pupils of this institution.

The basis of the one-story building are cuboid modules, which were intended by the authors of the design to resemble a building made of blocks. The rooms for different age groups have been distinguished by their colours. The use of glass portholes allows you to control children in the bathrooms. Each room has a separate entrance to the surrounding garden. The view is made more pleasant by the green colour of the glass used on the facade. Additional lighting for the interior of the building is provided by a glazed patio and corridors.
