The Swoja Olimpia Shopping Centre building in Wrocław is located in the immediate vicinity of the Olimpia Port housing estate. Architects from the renowned PAG Pracownia Architektury Głowacki studio have created a customer-friendly shopping and service centre which, despite its rich architectural form, fits perfectly into the suburban nature of the area and the architecture of low-story residential buildings. Thanks to well-thought-out urban and architectural solutions, the building increases the attractiveness of the district.
The arcades along the entire building enable the protection of users against rainfall and excessive sunlight. The facades finished with wooden frames together with the roofing and emerging pergolas create an extension of the building and a friendly public space.
The first phase of the project was opened on May 13, 2021. Grocery stores as well as medical and office spaces with an internal patio were created, giving the possibility of arranging a summer and winter garden with a recreation area for employees.
There are large glazed areas in the building made of Pilkington Suncool Optilam™ 70/35 laminated glass and Pilkington Suncool™ 70/35 glass that allow access to natural daylight and provide comfortable interior spaces.
The glass which is very neutral in its appearance offers high light transmittance, high solar heat reduction and low emissivity properties that help to achieve high thermal insulation. It provides great energy efficiency in both summer and winter time helping to reduce the energy consumption.
