EC Wybrzeże, Gdańsk, Poland

The Project
EC Wybrzeże is a combined heat and power station in Gdańsk, Poland. It is the largest producer and largest distributor of heat in the Tri-City, which provides heat to the residents of Gdańsk and Sopot.

The façade windows of this industrial building designed by Prointech are made of solar control glass with an intense blue colour, to which the colour of the spandrels has been matched.

The façade glazing is made of Pilkington Insulight™ Sun insulating glass units manufactured by Pilkington IGP, a part of NSG Group in Poland.

Pilkington Arctic Blue™ high performance body tinted glass in a unique blue colour that offers solar control performance without the use of surface coating, has been used as an external pane of insulated glass. The glass has been toughened to reduce the risk of thermal breakage. The solar control Pilkington Arctic Blue™ T has been combined with Pilkington Optitherm™ low-emissivity glass as an internal pane for optimum solar and thermal performance.
