Luxury showroom, Milan, Italy

The Project

In the heart of Milan, in the Vittorio Emanuele II Gallery, a well-known fashion brand opens a new store glazed with Pilkington OptiView™ anti-reflection glass.

This glass is characterized by a reduced light reflection of 2%. In fact, it can reduce the annoying reflections that are created on the windows of the showroom, and increase their transparency, so that the vision of the products displayed inside is facilitated.

Apart from the opening doors made of monolithic 8 mm Pilkington OptiView™ OW toughened glass, the product installed in windows is Pilkington OptiView™ Protect OW laminated glass with a thickness of 16.8 mm. It protects the products of this luxury showroom both from attempted theft and vandalism, and from accidental blows. In fact, we are referring to laminated anti-reflective safety glass with classes 1(B)1 and P4A respectively, according to EN 12600 and EN 356 standards. Furthermore, the glass is made on the Pilkington Optiwhite™ extra-clear glass substrate. Thanks to its high neutrality and a light transmission of more than 90%, the glass does not alter the colour perception of the items on display, allowing you to fully enjoy the vividness of the colours.

Among the anti-reflection products currently available on the market, there are three benefits that only Pilkington OptiView™ Protect OW can deliver through its online coating.

Firstly, thanks to the reduced emissivity of the anti-reflection coating, it is an excellent ally for containing heat losses from large shop windows, guaranteeing a comfortable environment and at the same time allowing significant savings in running costs. Secondly, its highly durable coating makes it resistant to abrasion and oxidation and can be cleaned very easily using traditional methods. Finally, a fundamentally important feature, the pyrolytic coating satisfies the design requirements of having a totally neutral reflection, avoiding that purplish hue often visible in the majority of products on the market.
