The Blablacar start-up specializing in carpooling has set up its head office at building X, a new office building very close to Place de la Bastille, in eastern Paris. This 9-floors modern and sustainable building offers several hundred “flex office” workstations. The office has been designed as a social hub, combining shared workspaces and living spaces. Employees can benefit from numerous leisure spaces such as fitness room, music recording studio, bar, and 500m² rooftop with a sports field and vegetable garden that offers a great view of the roofs of Paris.
The façade
The architects from Studio Vincent Eschalier imagined a glass envelope forming cylindrical columns to “create thickness and project the façade towards the city to encourage occupants to come to the window”.
The expertise of glass processor Cricursa enabled the manufacture of 86 curved double-glazing units with a radius of 1398 mm, composed of solar control glass with a toughenable Pilkington Suncool™ 66/33 Pro T coating. This structurally glazed façade also includes around twenty smoke extraction openings also curved.
Occupants therefore benefit from plenty of light without compromising their summer and winter comfort offered by the Pilkington Suncool™ 66/33 high performance solar control glass with low-emissivity properties.
