Red Rowan Berries and a beautiful river landscape reflect from the surfaces of the mini house standing on the banks of the Kiiminkijoki. The designer, multi-tasker, and composer Ilmari Mäenpää has combined traditional craftsmanship and modern construction into an amazing place. The private holiday home Olokoto Stealth is a real eye-catcher.

Announced at the 2016 housing fair, Olokoto has been brought even closer to nature. The outer surface of the mini home's large windows is mirror-like glass Pilkington Mirropane™ Chrome Spy. Inside the house, the windows look just like ordinary, transparent glass. With this "spy mirror," you can enjoy a fantastic panoramic view from the inside. From the outside, Pilkington Mirropane™ Chrome Spy offers the best possible privacy as the interior of the cabin cannot be seen.

The Pilkington Mirropane™ Chrome Spy 8 mm thick glass has been processed by Finnglass Oy into toughened safety glass used in the cabin.

The house built on a riverbank is twenty square meters in size. It accommodates a bedroom, kitchen cabinets in one corner and a bathroom. The floor-to-ceiling windows have no frames. The roof of the house is also made of glass.

A building weighing more than 10 tons does not need a foundation at all, instead, it floats on hydraulic legs. The hydraulic legs can level the building automatically, and the height of the building can be adjusted by more than half a meter. The goal is a space that is more comfortable than a log cabin but with just as good views.

Olokoto Stealth is manufactured from prefabricated components. The prefabricated parts used in the building are manufactured by specialized companies in the Oulu area. The assembly work, which includes precise conceptualization and quality assurance, takes place under factory conditions in Oulu, but in the future assembly work will also be done abroad.
