When designing a bathroom, we often want to make it look more spacious. Using a combination of white and blue is a good way to achieve this. The 'Blue' bathroom is an example of this.
Among other things, it features white enamelled glass. This protects the countertop under the washbasin. Pilkington Enamelled Glass 6 mm thick is made of extra-clear Pilkington Optiwhite™ glass that is coated with white ceramic enamel (RAL 9016). This enamel fuses with the glass surface during the toughening process.
Thanks to its reduced iron content, Pilkington Optiwhite™ glass does not have the greenish tint characteristic of standard float glass. It does not distort bright colours and is therefore ideal as a base for white designs using ceramic enamel.
The toughening process makes the glass much more resistant to mechanical damage, and when broken, it shatters into very small, blunt pieces.
