Designed by Sporstøl Arkitekter AS, the Havilahuset is the Havila Group headquarters building in Fosnavåg. This impressive structure towers over the surrounding landscape and reflects the local nature perfectly.
It was the first building of its kind in Norway to use triple-glazed insulating glass units made of multifunctional Pilkington Activ Suncool Optilam™ 30/17 glass.
Pilkington Activ Suncool Optilam™ 30/17 is a laminated self-cleaning solar control glass. In this building, it was used as the outer pane of the insulated glass, with a thickness of 8.8 mm. The middle pane of triple-glazed unit is made of standard clear float glass, and the inner pane is made of Pilkington Optitherm™ S3 low-emissivity glass. At the floor level the inner pane is made of toughened safety glass. The insulating glass units use a TGI spacer and are argon-filled. This reduces heat loss at the edges of the insulated glass unit, thereby improving the insulation of the entire window and significantly increasing the comfort of the rooms in the building while reducing heating costs.
Pilkington Insulight Activ™ Triple insulating glass units were supplied by Pilkington Norge AS in Bergen, while Glassmester John Holvik was the façade contractor.
