The Caldogno Sports Centre has been designed as a unified building complex to meet the need for an integrated facility offering sports, recreation and culture, with a focus on everyday life.
The key advantages sought by the project are functionality, flexibility of use and cost-effectiveness, both in construction and operation. This system is specifically designed for the well-being of the community and perfectly incorporates architect Sergio Novello's design choices. He opted for Pilkington Suncool™ Clear glass to ensure maximum efficiency.
Pilkington Suncool™ Clear met the Caldogno Sports Centre's design criteria, providing the optimal solution for indoor comfort in both summer and winter. This glass offers an efficient solution for solar control and thermal insulation, making it ideal for improving the energy performance of buildings. Its high-performance selective coating reflects over half of the solar heat load generated by sunlight (g-value below 0.45) and ensures very low thermal transmittance (Ug-value down to 1.1 W/m²K).
In addition to its excellent thermal performance, the product offers high light transmission and a neutral colour, making it suitable for commercial and residential use. The appearance of Pilkington Suncool™ Clear glazing is also aesthetically pleasing thanks to its low reflectance.
The glazing installed in the Caldogno Sports Centre has the following construction: Pilkington Suncool Optilam™ Clear 8.4 mm - 16 mm Argon - Pilkington Optilam™ Clear 8.8 mm enables a light transmission of 62%, a thermal insulation coefficient (Ug-value) of 1.1 W/m²K and a solar factor of 40%.
