The Atrium Felicity Shopping Center in Lublin, Poland is one of the largest of this kind in the region. On the area of 75,000 sqm there are about 135 stores of the most popular fashion brands, restaurants and cafes. The most spectacular element of the building is the spacious skylight located above the restaurant's part of the gallery. Thanks to the appropriate selection of glass, it combines aesthetic and functional properties, creating a comfortable space for users.
The glazing of both the skylight and the facade has been made of Pilkington Insulight™ Sun insulating glass units made of Pilkington Suncool™ 66/33 T toughened solar control glass in combination with Pilkington Optilam™ Clear laminated safety glass. Pilkington Suncool™ 66/33 high performance solar control glass protects the interior of the gallery from overheating during the summer. In addition, thanks to the low-emissivity coating it protects the building against the heat escape in winter season. In order to maximize insulation, the glass panes were made with the use of warm spacers TGI® Spacer, which reduce heat loss at the edges and improve the U-value for the entire window. To meet the safety requirements, the glass roof was made of 8.8 mm thick Pilkington Optilam™ Clear laminated glass.
In addition, Pilkington Pyrostop® fire-resistant glass was used for door glazing to provide fire integrity and insulation in the event of fire.
