Clouth 104, Cologne, Germany

The Project
The Clouth 104 project is creating a very special neighbourhood in the north of Cologne. Designed by Lepel & LepeL architectural practice, the project brings a new life to the surrounding quartier. It offers lofts and rental apartments as well as space for start-ups, digital companies, studios for artists, medical practices and much more. The area, which is closed on all sides, allows a place for meetings and communication. The large courtyard invites you to linger and exchange ideas. When realizing the property, modern room concepts were combined with listed brick walls – open, bright and large rooms were created, which offer almost all possibilities for individual user’s requests.

To provide transparency and at the same time suitable solar control Pilkington Suncool™ 60/31 high performance solar control glass was specified for the large glass fronts. It offers a neutral colour in both external and internal appearance and a low degree of reflection. The product thus meets the highest demands in modern buildings. As a special design highlight, Pilkington Suncool™ 60/31 was partly finished with screen printing made by Flachglas Wernberg to provide translucent effect.
