Prince William V Gallery, The Hague, The Netherlands

The Project
Prince William V Gallery in the Buitenhof square in The Hague is the first public collection in the Netherlands. The Gallery contains more than 150 paintings by many Dutch masters from the Dutch Golden Age, as well as some Italian works and paintings by Flemish people.

During the restoration of the Gallery, the building was equipped with Pilkington Spacia™. This vacuum insulated glass offers the thermal performance of double glazed insulating glass units, but has the thickness of a single pane. Thanks to its small thickness Pilkington Spacia™ glass can be installed in the original rebates with putty, in a completely traditional way. In addition the product improves the control of the indoor climate. A stable indoor climate is extremely important for works of art. The restoration has helped to keep the Gallery in its old style.
