The beautiful historic building in Franeker has been renovated. According to the customer's requirements, the window panes had to meet several important conditions simultaneously. The double glazing had to have good thermal insulation, small thickness and also due to the location of the building in a noisy city center, it had to have adequate sound insulation.
The ideal product meeting the requirements that was chosen for the glazing was the Pilkington Spacia™ vacuum glass. It offers the thermal performance of double insulating glazing, but has the thickness of a single pane. By choosing Pilkington Spacia™ the glass could be embedded in the original rebates with putty in completely traditional way.
